Fake Nation

This site is my personal repository of intererests, rants, artwork, travels and whatever other random junk I can cram in here. It started in the summer of 2004 under the name "Piata's Stuff" (as I lacked a better name at the time) and eventually renamed it Fake Nation.

I've always had big plans for this place, but I have never been able to quite get those plans into action. Future additions include a more functional side bar, picture and artwork galleries and something to toast your bagels.

When I was a kid, I loved Calvin and Hobbes. I think it distorted my perspective on life much more than anything else ever has or ever will and to that end, I always wanted to create a comic of my own. The concept of EGAB! (awesome abreviation curtosy of Susan) came out of Warped Tour 2006. Wandering around the grounds and being surrounded by so many different people, I was fascinated with how punk had spawned two distinctly opposing sub genres (namely Emo and Hardcore) and even a hybrid (Screamo), yet brought everyone together.

Over the next few days I started drawing Emo Girl. She looks nothing like the first drawings, nor does Anarchy Boy and they both continue to evolve. Unfortunately, I'm very slow to update the strip. There is a story I want to tell and I hope to have it done in this life time so check back yearly.

The journal section is mostly a record of my thoughts for my own benefit, but also serves as an easy way to communicate with family and friends far.

I don't update the journal as much as I used to, but I try. Especially when I take a trip somewhere.
